We were so excited to have this baby and so hopeful to go home about 24 hours after delivery when we got word that Peyton had elevated white blood cell counts. This meant there could be an
infection so she had to stay at the hospital on antibiotics for at least 48 hours to make sure a blood culture didn't have any bacteria. That meant I had to go home from the hospital without my new baby. Probably the most difficult thing ever and she was only gone from me for 24 hours. I can't imagine if it would have been any longer! This was really difficult to handle. All of this was happening in the midst of Peyton refusing to eat or go to the bathroom. They finally discovered that she still had quite a bit of amniotic fluid in her lungs and stomach so they had to suction it all out (not easy for this new mom to watch). Geez, I just wanted to bring home a healthy baby! :(

Peyton did enjoy her boxing glove from the IV. This was the only hit we got on video, but there were many more!
We got to bring her home on Friday, November 19th!!! Let the sleepless nights begin!
