Since we last wrote, the baby's arm and leg joints have begun working, the vital organs are all there (the heart started beating at 22 days). Fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore and hair follicles, tooth buds, and nail beds are forming. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about the fact that the baby's head is the same size as it's body, but surely that will even out before delivery. It has too, right??

While the baby has been rapidly growing, we have been partying it up! Last weekend Steven threw a surprise graduation party for me on Saturday night, then on Sunday we went to the Lakers first playoff game of the 2010 playoffs. Even though we wore the free Laker t-shirts they passed out we still cheered for the Oklahoma City Thunder (we had to represent our heritage, of course).

For Steven, the best part was on our trip back home we stopped at his favorite store called Galco's Old World Grocer. We picked up about 20 different kinds of root beer and were on our way.

This has been a loooong week for me, I had a $1.3 million dollar grant due today so lots of overtime this week. Now, for the scariest new adventure of our lives: we (yes Steven and I) are going to.....wait for it.....BABYSIT! I know, it was like an out of body experience when I heard myself say yes. Steven likes to call this our "dry run" for when the baby comes. I don't know, but a 5 year old and a 3 year old (boys) don't sound the same to me as one newborn. But hopefully we will live and so will the kids. I'm sure there will be stories to follow. Oh, and just so Frank doesn't feel left out, and because I'm sure you've all missed seeing his cute little face.....here you go.....

With that said, good night all. I'm sure we'll write again soon!
I'm very disappointed with the Thunder cheering. I'm concerned about this type of influence in my grandchild's life. Galco's rocks!
ReplyDeleteThose boys you are babysitting will love you two. They will probably beg their parents to take them back to your house.Sara I bet you are relieved after this week and the big Grant.Enjoy all the rootbeer.I can still see Steven @ Christmas w the large box getting ready to fill it.(cracked me up).
